Chandigarh Carnival, the most awaited fair in Chandigarh is again live for year 2015 at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, Chandigarh. Being an annual event, Chandigarh Carnival is organized by Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Chandigarh Tourism over the last weekend of November. Various stalls are set up in the area opposite Government College of Arts in sector 10 to enthral the visitors. These stalls also include participation from Chandigarh government departments like Chandigarh Police, Chandigarh Traffic Police, CITCO etc.

Floats prepared by the students of arts college are the main attraction of the event. These floats are made using bamboo tree sticks on a rickshaw and are decorated with colourful papers in the shape of cartoon characters.

Chandigarh carnival is a three day long mega event that is held every year in the month of November. It is usually hosted at the Leisure valley in Sector 10. It is organized by the Chandigarh administration to promote creativity and talent of the citizens of Chandigarh and adjoining places. Carnival of Chandigarh is celebrated with fun and frolic. It provides a platform, especially to children and senior citizens, to come forward and exhibit their talent. It gives a boost to talented people. Various competitions are conducted for senior citizens like painting and clay modeling etc. Pick and drop facilities are provided to senior citizens, so that they do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. This event definitely deserves a mention, when the talk is about the popular fairs and festivals of Chandigarh.

A carnival village is set up at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, opposite Government College of Arts. Various handicraft and food stalls are set up over here for the visitors. Entry to Chandigarh Carnival is free of cost. A stage is set where CITCO in collaboration with Chandigarh Administration makes arrangements for star nights by inviting Hindi and Punjabi singers.

Every year students of arts college make decorative floats which are a major attraction. Students take part in the Chandigarh Carnival Parade on the opening day of the event.
