Mangalam Dam is a village in the Palakkad district, state of Kerala, India. It is administered by Vandazhy gram panchayat.[1] This village is named after the dam situated in the region.Mangalam Dam, built across the Cherukunnath River, a tributary of the Mangalam River is a popular tourism centre in Palakkad. The beautiful Mangalam reservoir is surrounded by forest area with a lot of wildlife. Boating facility is also available here. The dam is located about 42 km south of Palakkad town near Vadakkencherry.Managalm dam is situated about 50 km away from Palakkad and it is a famous picnic spot. This dam is constructed across the Cherukunnapuzha, a tributary of Mangalam River. Though the project was partially completed in 1956, there were many extensions needed on the right bank canal and it was fully operational only after ten years in 1966.
